Gabriël Fauré (1845-1924)

The 13 Barcarolles written by Gabriël Fauré are testimonials of his very personal and harmonical inventive power of expression. Fauré is often seen as the linking composer between the French Romantics and the Impressionists. In the first "Barcarolle" op. 26 in a-minor we listen to the conversations between the two lovers in their little boat. As they get aroused more and more by emotions, we almost hear the turn over of their boat.
