Anton Arensky (1861-1906)
- Près de la mer op. 52 no. 3
- Près de la mer op. 52 no. 5
Anton Arensky
was educated musically by Rimsky-Korsakov. Though he was originally
Russian, his style is not as nationalistic as his teacher's. He also
wrote a series of character pieces à la Mendelssohn. His two compositions
"Près de la Mer" op. 52 nr.3 in D-major & nr. 5 in E-minor
are reflecting the calm and quiet floating sea in a rather simple lyrical-romantic
language.
